Island Sanctuary | Chira Island, Costa Rica

My wife and I are going on our eighth year in Costa Rica. We have developed several smaller communities which have been well accepted and receive rave reviews from the people who live there. We believe that our products represent the best that Costa Rica has to offer and the best values.

It is located on an island in the bay of Nicoya a 15 to 20 minute boat ride from the mainland. Isla Chira is almost like "stepping back in time" and is virtually unknown, even among Ticos.

The island is like Costa Rica must have been nearly a century ago. It is pristineÉ the surroundings are gorgeous and untouched. Views are to die forÉ There are no traffic jams, no pollution, no crime. no casinos, no discos, no tourist resortsÉ in short, the island is a tropical paradise. (oh, don't worry, all amenities for comfort have caught up to the island).

The island is large enough so that most will never be boredÉ 30 miles in circumference with ten totally separate beaches and large stretches of land that have never been explored. And the inhabitants of the island make their living the same way that their fathers and grandfathers didÉ almost exclusively fishing or farming.
